Happy 2009 to all. Each of us met 2008 head-on, made adjustments to our businesses under constantly changing conditions. The year of 2008 will be one that makes history for many reasons. Let’s take what we can from 2008 and learn from it. All of us will be stronger for having been a part of such a drastically changing economy.
But that was then, this is now. Welcome to 2009. A new set of opportunities awaits each of us. Only we can decide what changes personally and professionally we will make to better position ourselves for the future.
I for one will take advantage of designations offered by NAHB. The CGA (Certified Graduate Associate) and CGP (Certified Green Professional) designations. The series of mandated courses required will allow me to better understand the building process from site selection, environmental impact to finished product. Continuing education is an excellent way to add value to your company or employer as well as personal growth individually. This opportunity is available to each of us through the University of Housing from NAHB.

Our association has a new strategic plan we will implement over the next three years. This is a great opportunity for each of our members to participate and help shape our association for the future. This is the best way to network with follow members, build relationships and gain their trust. Now is the time to act. Please accept this invitation to join our committees. I am excited for our association in 2009. Together I know we will make it great. We are blessed with a great group of leaders in our committees and experience on our newly expanded Board of Directors.
